We went out scrumping figs and almonds – not with great success. We couldn’t find many figs and those we could were quite small. But we did get enough for fig tart – which is flaky pastry with blue cheese and figs.
We also thought we’d scrump some almonds too. There’s a couple of almond trees where we walk, but I think we were too early.
There are a lot more where we go asparagus picking – so we’ll try up there in a week or so and hope the wildlife hasn’t beaten us to it!
The purpose of the almond picking is we thought about making our own muslie – but given that entails buying big bags of ingredients and making enough to keep us going for months – perhaps we’ll wait and see if we’re moving.
Ooops, did I say moving? Well fingers crossed we’ll have some positive news this coming week 🙂
