That tiny dot by the arrow is Ian on the beach at Burela. There are a couple of webcams which show the beaches https://burela.org/es/webcams It was a bit tricky working out which dot Ian was, particularly as the webcams only refresh each minute – but that was definitely him!
We’ve been trying to work out how much different the light evenings will be – that picture from the webcam was taken at almost 7pm – and the sky looked very similar to here, so perhaps it won’t be too much different.
Ian traveled up yesterday with the intention of signing the contract and paying for the new house – however needless to say, things didn’t go to plan as we had intended to pay by bank transfer, and one of the sellers would only accept a bankers draft, which Ian didn’t have time to arrange – so had to come back again and we’re hoping we can do it next Friday – which is the day we are leaving here, so I am guessing we’ll need to leave super-early or travel on Thursday.
Unfortunately, the estate agent we are dealing with isn’t very communicative, so we’re left in the dark a lot – which isn’t great – particularly when it comes to planning.
On the plus side, Ian left the car in Burela, which is the nearest big town, so we don’t need to worry about taking that up now, and he also hired a van for a week which he is driving back now, so that saves having to go to Seville next week to sort out van hire. It also means we have it for a bit longer, so can make sure that all the animal transport cages etc fit in and are secure and do some trial runs if necessary.
So what happens next…??
We need to finish packing the house – we’ve cleared most things we’re not taking. I’m particularly pleased that the books we’re not taking, including a lot of my craft books, have gone to the library!
We need to sort the banker’s drafts, which I think will be best done on Monday so that’s done and out of the way.
We need to pack the van for transporting the animals, we’ve got a plan which should work out well. Pixie, Horace and Millie will travel in one crate, Horace will be easy as we just have to make sure there’s a duvet mound for him to snuggle under – I doubt he will even know he’s moving! Dumpling will travel on her own in a travel box. Percy can be a bit annoying, so if he’s good he will travel with Pixie and Millie, but if he’s being naughty-little-brother, he may find himself travelling alone. Being so small, it won’t have too much of an effect if he travels separately. And then Daisy, Queenie and Charlie will all travel clipped into their harnesses so they are secured.
The four cats can travel together in a single crate, and the lovebirds in a small carrier – and Ludvig in his travel cage. I’m not sure if Ludvig will travel in the front of the van or in the back – we’ll see how he is.
A busy week ahead… 🙂
