Burela

This morning we went to burela. We went to go shopping but took advantage of being there to have a little look around. There are several beaches which were very nice, and also there is what appears to be quite a big port. We noticed that dogs were allowed on this beach.

The beaches were empty but it was quite early.

The port looked busy

There is a boat and fish theme that is very obvious in the town. Even a government building is sort of ship like.

Proof that we were on the beach

The Fort

This afternoon we walked to the site of the old fort. It’s about a kilometre as the crow flies, but a bit further to walk.

The ground has been cleared and the lumps and bumps are where the old fort was.

The view is quite impressive, we could see to Burela.

This was the walk back with ‘our’ beach behind the cow.

And this is the river which joins the sea under the railway bridge.

Our house is behind the trees!
This is where the fort is, we were stood on the stones at the top.

Tomorrow we are going to go in the other direction to San Ciprian.

Here’s a couple of pics that show the wood to the back of the house.
