The Sound of Lovebirds

I don’t know if they really communicate with each other, or if they just instinctively cheep, however we’re often aware of the lovebirds apparently talking to each other. When they are sat next to each other it’s quite cute as they appear to natter away. They seem to chirp more when they are dozy, and they sit there chirruping away with their eyes closed. We have both agreed that the sound of lovebirds is very different to the sounds of Larry. I think being in a forest of lovebirds would be quite nice and relaxing, which is something that definitely could not be said about a forest of Larrys.

Larry is pretty much back to his old self now, although he still can’t climb. I wonder if perhaps he fell which is how he hurt his foot, and is therefore not inclined to climb. He doesn’t need to climb, as he has a couple of low level perches. I think I’ll look for tree branch we can put in with him which will give him more perching options.

Tinkerbelle is completely back to normal. She goes for a check up next week but I’m not worried about her at the moment. Alfie had another seizure last weekend so we took him to the vet. They are pretty much of the opinion that there’s no point in investigating the cause as there’s probably nothing we’d do if we did know what caused it. I think they are thinking that if it is a growth in his head, we wouldn’t get it operated on, therefore there’s no point in putting him through the rigors of testing. Which makes sense. Of course, the other thing we don’t know is whether he’s having epileptic seizures and he’s been prone to them all the time, but just come on again now he’s older.

The weather has got cooler. It’s now ‘only’ 32/33. We can still shower without the water heater – which is just as well as it’s still not working. Also still no real rain. We decided that we won’t call it rain if we can count the individual drops on the ground. I wonder if we’ll get proper Extremaduran rain later in the year. Something to look forward to…
