This was in Burela (town to our right).
However we also went to a new beach in San Ciprian (mermaid town) – it’s actually two little beaches:
This says how the people used to collect seaweed from here to use as cattle food – see how the signs are in Galego and Spanish.
Yes, we DO see a lot of rainbows!
This bench is between the two small beaches – not a bad view!
There was also a sign on the beach which appeared to say that there is a local legend that an Irish man who as a Catholic was escaping persecution landed on the beach and asked to be taken to the Bishop.
And that’s it!
No dragons, sea monsters, miracles or anything particularly exciting. As legends go, this is surely one of the least inspiring!
