Saturdays viewers have put an offer in on the house. The are cash buyers which is great – however they want to be in within 6 weeks. It remains to be seen if we achieve this, however I had already instructed a solicitor a few months ago who has all the paperwork ready, so there won’t be anything to hold things up from our end.
It was quite a shock really. We knew that it was a good viewing and they were here for a long time and had done their homework – however that could well have meant that we didn’t hear from then again. But Monday we had a call with a starting offer. We negotiated to £275, which is less than we were looking for, but on the other hand was what we thought we would sell it for last year, so our expectations were raised by our first valuation from PW’s.
Ian had Monday off, and we were going into Newcastle for a day browsing galleries and Ian had given me the £80 we got for the Audi to spend (have I mentioned that we sold this last week? Only one car that doesn’t run on the driveway now!) so we were going to spend that – anyway, by the time we got to Newcastle we had accepted the offer and were not feeling much like browsing galleries. So we had lunch and headed straight home!
Yesterday it had started to sink in and we have started to make some plans. We need to think about what we are going to do when we have left here – are we going to move to BE for a while, or just get on with house hunting etc, so we have made a list of the things we need to do within the next 6 weeks which includes getting dogs vaccinated against rabies etc, and rehoming animals…
Ians job is the next thing to address and he is going to approach them about freelance work. This might all fall into place – or it might not, we can only wait and see how that progresses over the next few days.
We’ve had broadband fitted. It is satelite bb and we have it through Cybermoor so it is heavily subsidised. It costs £20 a month, and we’ll save on the extra telephone line – well we would have done if we were staying. But it is handy when looking at houses over internet. Last night we found a castle for e270. However it is in Chez Rep, and that is not on our destination list (yet…). There were some great properties www.bluehomes.com. Today I am meeting a lady who wants me to make a braclet for her wedding. She wants a cuff type thing. I will get it done, but how typical that it starts to pick up when we are starting to pack up!
