While there may be more established ways of telling when Spring is on its way, for me, the sign of impending spring is when the fairly lights on the bedroom window come on again. There are a couple of months in the deepest darkest winter, when we don’t get enough sun in this corner of the patio to charge the fairy lights. However, with the slight extension in daylight, the lights are now twinkling on, even if it’s just for a few hours.
This must also mean that asparagus is on its way. We could go out this weekend and look, but it’s probably a little early. But hopefully within the next two weeks we’ll be enjoying our first asparagus meal. I’ve got more new classes booked, so I have classes Saturday morning and evening now, which severely cuts into our asparagussing time, but I am sure that Ian will become all hunter-gather and, armed with a knife, head out into the olive groves…
