Ian is clearing the earth which is on top of what was a threshing circle (square). It will make a very nice patio area.
Unfortunately, we can’t use the door which you can see at the side of the barn, as it opens into the room where the floor is collapsing. However, if we can get that floor removed, we could put in stairs to the ground floor and at least make this bit usable.
We don’t know how far the old threshing bit goes, but probably not a lot further.
Our plan will be to put a table up here and maybe some cover, but first to see what we we have!
