We planned to walk over to the headland for a picnic tea. We hadn’t planned, however, for the growth of super-ferns.

And these were the small ones, we completely disappeared later on!
So while we did get to the end point, we turned around and walked down to the beach -this time on the other side of the bridge. We can get over to this side from ‘our’ side of the beach at low tide, but there’s also a way down coming down from the other side crossing over the road bridge.
We had our picnic at a little shack which is built tucked into the side of the railway bridge. You can just see it at the end of the video below. We knew this shack was here, as we can see it from our side of the beach – but didn’t realize how nice it is! Definitely something we’ll be making more use of, just a shame dogs aren’t allowed on the beach at the moment.
We did see a bit of sunset colours in the sky, but I think we’d need to go to the beach outside Burela to see a proper sunset.
