There was a Viking festival in a town just the other side of Viviero (pooping nativity scene town) and we went to watch the Vikings arrive – and found ourselves watching a re-enactment which was excellent. I’m not sure of the historical accuracy, however it was the story of the Vikings arriving and getting fought off by the Christians.
It was really well done and while they couldn’t have requested the weather it was absolutely perfecct as it was cloudy and a bit misty, which added very much to the atmosphere.
It started with the Vikings arriving by sea.
And ended with a big fight which the Christians won.
