Ian has finished the stove and we are waiting now for a couple of days before we can light it and see how it works!
The cast iron top had been painted, as you can see in the pic below:

However Ian sanded the paint off and we’ll look at seasoning the iron top when it’s heated.
The only issue we’ve found is the middle plate insert is bowed which means the rings don’t sit flat. The set on the left aren’t too bad but the one on the right is a bit more wobbly. We can get a replacement plate, but we’ll wait and see how much of a problem it is when in actual use.

Christmas Dinner!
With just two gas burners and my old polymer clay oven we were still able to enjoy our lentil wellington!

And as a reminder that we’re using the gas burners I used in my old workshop for crafts – here I am dying some cotton with eucalyptus leaves! The one on the left is bark and the one on the right is leaves. I think they will come out much the same though. Next I am going to try dying with seaweed!
These are saucepans which we were left with the house 🙂
