We have new street lights! I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the old yellow streetlights were getting changed for new LED ones. We’ve only ever had one working light outside our house and that stopped working a couple of weeks ago. So we weren’t surprised when they were replaced with the LED lights – but what a difference it makes! It’s like being out in a full moon. The light is very different and just lights up the area beneath unlike the yellow lights that seem to give a wider light, so it is less wasteful.
They had already changed the lights at the top of the hill and I took a photo the other morning to see the difference.
The houses at the top of the hill which I circled have the new LED lights and they look like they are in moonlight. The white dot is us and is actually our outdoor light (which I don’t think we’ll need any more!) and the rest of the lights are a mix of the old yellow lights and a couple of new LED lights. This was before ours was replaced so it will be interesting to see what it looks like now!
The yellow lights cause quite a lot of light polution so it will be interesting to see what a difference these make.
