It was Carnival last week, with Tuesday being a local holiday. The parades took place at the weekends either side of the holiday, with them being spread out over different towns on different days. People put an immense amount of work into their costumes and routines, so it makes sense that they participate in as many parades as possible.
The parade in San Cibrao was on Tuesday evening and is quite a small one compared to the ones in the larger towns, but we went in anyway to see the parade – and the highlight was the band with the trumpet kazoos!

We rarely go to San Cibrao after dark – so it was quite nice to see it in the evening:
