After a long time I finally got my bike out again and have cycled into San Cibrao a couple of times. The first was to get bread, the second was on Sunday to get familiar with the roads from a cyclists perspective. While I used to do quite a lot of cycling in Villagarcia for a while (stopped when I had a bad knee and never really got to it again), that was all on unmade up lanes around the olive groves so I’m not particularly confident yet on proper roads.
We’d actually considered places to cycle as part of out house requirement list. I think that was one of the reasons we finally ruled out La Palma on the Canaries – MUCH too hilly!
looking at these pics it seems like the last time I cycled much it was pre-helmet days!
