Well more hedge, less weeds! Ian has been doing more clearing of the hedge. There were a LOT of weeds – and some of the hedge is a little sparse. We’ll wait for a while and see what grows back before replanting. Hopefully it will fill out again, if not we’ll think of plan B!

The weeds overpowered the hedge in quite a few places, however there is growth on most bits – even if small and hopefully by spring we’ll see what we have that’s coming through.

The plan is to put mulch around the hedge – we thought about picking up the debris from where the eucalyptus trees are processed. Hopefully this will help keep the weeds away.

Ideally we’d have taken the hedge out and replaced it with a fence which we could just spray with weedkiller every so often, but the root network of the hedge is holding the bank up – so we need it to stay in place!
And this is just a nice photo of Ian with Babbity looking a bit grumpy as she is getting taken in from her new favourite space which is under the hedge!
