As per normal, the temperatures changed from the winter lows to the summer highs instantly. At about 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon when the temperature jumped up about 10 degrees. It really is like someone has switched a switch. So having got the house all nicely cozy and insulated for the winter, now we are busy taking down the blankets we hung over doors and thinking instead about how to keep the house cool.
The rain has made the countryside very green – it is also very flowery at the moment too. We went asparagus picking yesterday, for the first time in a while, and it was nice to see all the flowers. There were a lot of lizards on the move too.
A snake got into the school last week so all the younger children took great delight in showing me how the caretaker battered the poor thing to death.
