We had to go to the notary and he was a man who obviously loved hunting. So much that his entire office was covered in photos of him with things that he had hunted. He had them nicely sorted, with images of him and dead male things on one side and those of him and dead female things on the other side. I had to spend much of the time trying to avoid dead things, even his envelope knife was made from some poor creature’s antler.
There’s been a collection in the village for a family whose house burned down last week. The brasera under the table was the cause of the fire, with the table catching alight and the flames quickly catching onto the ceiling beams. While burning coals is the favored form of winter heating, there does seem to be a major fire risk. You can also buy gas ones, but having a gas fire under a table with a large blanket on top and loads of legs underneath doesn’t seem a lot safer!
