Happy New Year!

This is Year of the Snake. We’ve had a quiet Christmas and New Year. In fact it was surprisingly quiet last night. It rained, so I think that may have put a damper on fireworks and some of the celebrations. The next biggie is the 3 Kings later this week.

We got the car back before Christmas, so Ian was able to pop into the cheese shop and buy a couple of nice cheese for our cheese feast. We had two of our favourites, and had a posh cheese on toast meal as part of our cheesey festivities. One of the cheese is a hard one which is cured with rosemary, and we had this toasted and it really bought out the flavour of the cheese.

We’ve been out for a few walks, which has been nice. One of the things I still appreciate about living here is how it doesn’t get dark until about 6.30, so we can go out for walk at 4.30 and still come back in the light. We don’t get a chance to do this when I have classes so it was nice to make the most of the time off.

Ian has been working on a new website for me as my old one was very out of date. So watch this space for a preview soon!!
