Five years today….

It is five years since Ian met Bob, and it was love at first sight. A little later he noticed that Bob had an owner (me)!

Five years ago the 10th was on a Saturday, and I had picked Susan up from her place in Radstock and we decided to pop into Bristol for a bit of shopping. Emmas birthday is on the 11th so we said we’d drop her present in before we went shopping, it was a lovely sunny day so we all moseyed down to the keyside for a drink and whilst there Ed had a call from his friend Ian who I had never met – but had heard all about over the years, and Ed invited this reprobate to join us. So the next hour or so was spent in merry jest as every weirdo coming across the bridge was pointed out as Ian. There were a lot of wierdos out this day. When Ian did arrive he was disappointingly normal and he had a young lady with him, as I remember, and as we were a couple of ciders in at this point, I think our enthusiasm (and loudness) scared her away. But by this time Ian had eyes for only one, and that was Bob whom he noticed as soon as he got to the table. Things get a bit blurry from there – but I remember a barbeque at Emma and Eds (shopping got postponed) a walk by the river, Ed and Ian taking Bob out for a walk and realising that a cute white puppy dog was a great talking point with the young ladies, Ian going home with my email address and phone number.

It is also our one year anniversary of Blog writing. A year – blimey!

Basil is off to the hairdressers today. I have just waved goodbye to Ian driving off with Basil sat regally in the back of the car.

  1. Can’t believe that Ian has only been a around for five years – why does it seem so much longer, I wonder!! Part of the reason is that in that time you have moved house 3 times and are now looking to move again … is Ian on the run from us? It’s been lovely having you in the family,Ian. (right, that should take care of our next holiday)!
