Kate’s New Website

Kate appears to be poised on the brink of world domination. Well, she’s visited a couple of galleries on the last week or so who have both received her new jewellery designs in very positive ways. Interestingly, they both had slightly different takes on her work.

The Northumberland gallery liked Kate’s semi-precious stone pieces and want her to produce some big centre pieces, whilst the gallery in Cockermouth preferred the glass bead pieces and weren’t worried about components as clasps being mass produced rather than individually hand made.

It was quite good that the first two galleries should take such different views, as they allow an easy way for Kate to produce two loosely connected ranges. A lower cost range and a slightly more expensive range using better quality and custom made components.

Once Kate has got her displays sorted in these two galleries she’ll look for others, hopefully on a national basis, particularly as it won’t matter where in the UK galleries are if she’s supplying from Spain. Actually we did take a look at OCG in Ambleside the other week, thinking that was in a good location and had nice stick, though it was rather disappointing. They’ve moved their jewellery into a separate shop which looked like a sophisticated H Samuel, rather than a gallery for interesting jewellery. When it was displayed in the gallery, it seemed to have a more arty cache than it probably deserved.

Hopefully my latest website creation will help Kate in her future ambitions for more galleries to show her work – www.kaffi.co.uk has had an update and I’m quite pleased with the result.

I’ve recently offered to produce a website for one of the estate agents that’s selling the house and I’ve also got some other interesting plans in the web field. I did mention to Helen that if she and Darren liked, I’d give the Citadel site an update, so that might be something else to add to the list. I’ve had few thoughts already, just in case.
